Leaks detail Samsung Galaxy S26 series ahead of Unpacked event

Samsung is set to unveil the Galaxy S26 lineup at its Galaxy Unpacked event on February 25 in San Francisco. Recent leaks suggest updates to design, cameras, and processors across the S26, S26 Plus, and S26 Ultra models. The information comes from various reports, though some aspects remain unconfirmed.

Samsung has scheduled its Galaxy Unpacked event for February 25 at 10 a.m. PT in San Francisco, where it expects to announce the Galaxy S26 series. This follows the pattern of previous launches, such as the Galaxy S25 models revealed on January 22, 2025, and released on February 7.

For the Galaxy S26 Ultra, leaks indicate a design with curvier corners and a revised rear camera layout, featuring four lenses in a raised vertical bump. The device may include a 6.9-inch display using brighter, more efficient M14 OLED panels and measure 7.9 mm thick, 0.3 mm slimmer than the S25 Ultra. Camera specifications reportedly mirror the S25 Ultra with minor upgrades: a 200-megapixel main sensor, 50-megapixel ultrawide, 10-megapixel 3x telephoto, and 50-megapixel 5x telephoto, alongside a 12-megapixel front camera. It is expected to use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor in the US and China, with the Exynos 2600 elsewhere, plus 16 GB of RAM, up to 1 TB storage, a 5,000-mAh battery, and 60-watt wired charging.

The series will support satellite communication for messaging without cellular networks, as per FCC documents. Wireless charging may reach 25 watts with a new Qi2 charger, though full speed could be limited to the Ultra model. Color options vary by report, including black shadow, white shadow, galactic blue, ultraviolet, silver shadow, sky blue, cobalt violet, and pink gold.

Regarding the base Galaxy S26, earlier suggestions of replacing it with an S26 Pro appear unfounded, with leaks showing a design similar to the S25 but with a vertical camera bump. It may feature a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera, a 6.3-inch dynamic AMOLED 2X screen at 120 Hz, a 4,300-mAh battery, up to 12 GB RAM, and 512 GB storage. Samsung's Mobile Experiences Division vice president, Daniel Araujo, stated in an earnings call that the lineup will "revolutionize the user experience with user-centric, next-gen AI, a second-generation custom AP, and stronger performance, including new camera sensors."

Rumors for the Galaxy S26 Plus or Edge are mixed; the S25 Edge's poor sales might lead Samsung to revive the Plus instead of a new Edge model. The Plus could have a 6.7-inch QHD+ display and similar camera setup. Software updates in One UI 8.5 may include a "Privacy display" feature to limit viewing angles on sensitive apps, as confirmed by Samsung.
