The Ministry of Health completed its national deployment of the Oncology Alert Plan and responded to more than 30,000 patients with suspected or diagnosed cancer.
The Ministry of Health completed the territorial deployment of the Oncology Alert Plan from Arica to Magallanes. The strategy, declared two months ago, aimed to reduce waiting times for cancer treatments through active patient identification and follow-up.
Minister May Chomali reported that the goal was met ahead of schedule. Over five days, Chomali along with undersecretaries Alejandra Pizarro and Julio Montt and department head Alejandro Berkovits visited all 16 regions to present progress and recognize local teams.
The original plan was scheduled to end in September. Authorities stated that most care was resolved in the public network and that nearly all prioritized patients were contacted.
The national closure will take place on Tuesday, July 14 in the Metropolitan Region with a consolidated balance of the 90 days.
