Seat renews Arona and Ibiza for its 25th anniversary in Mexico

The Spanish brand Seat marks 25 years in Mexico by updating its iconic Arona and Ibiza models, with aesthetic and interior enhancements to remain competitive in the local market, the most important for the brand outside Europe.

Seat, the Spanish brand under the Volkswagen Group, entered Mexico in 2001 aiming to establish itself in this market, which has become the most significant for the company outside Europe. To commemorate its 25th anniversary, the firm updated its Arona and Ibiza models, which will be the main focus of its lineup in the country in the coming years. The Ibiza is Seat's best-selling car globally, with Mexico ranking among the top five countries for its sales.

The changes to both vehicles are primarily aesthetic and similar. At the front, they feature a new daytime running light signature, with fog lights relocated to the lower part of the front fascia, integrated into the grille. The rims now have a more dynamic 17-inch design. At the rear, angular taillights, a reverse camera, and a decorative diffuser stand out.

Inside, the FR versions of both models include sport bucket seats, a new central armrest, a 10-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 9.2-inch central screen compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The central console has two USB-C ports and a wireless charger.

The engines remain unchanged: the 1.6-liter naturally aspirated with 110 horsepower for Style and FR versions, now with automatic transmission in the Ibiza FR. The 1.0-liter TSI turbo with 115 horsepower is available only in the FR with a six-speed manual. For Arona, the lineup starts with Style and adds the FR for the first time, both with the 1.6-liter engine and six-speed Tiptronic automatic.

Seat has 54 sales points in Mexico, 11 of which have been operating since its entry into the country. Prices for the renewed Ibiza range from 379,900 to 451,900 Mexican pesos, while the Arona goes from 429,900 to 466,900 pesos.

In the context of growth in the Mexican automotive industry, where light vehicle sales rose 4.4% in the first two months of 2026 to 250,076 units, Volkswagen held third place with 27,953 sales, despite a slight decline.
