Bones confirmed as those of Delphine Jubillar

IRCGN analysis confirmed Sunday that bones found last Thursday in a Tarn field belong to Delphine Jubillar. Her husband Cédric Jubillar led investigators to the site after renewing his confession.

The bones were exhumed from farmland straddling Villeneuve-sur-Vère and Mailhoc, eleven kilometres from the couple’s home in Cagnac-les-Mines. The body had been buried in rudimentary conditions, without tools and not deeply, in a wheat field.

Cédric Jubillar renewed his confession on 15 July before the president of the Haute-Garonne assize court. He stated he caused his wife’s death in a “very intense emotional overflow” but denies killing her intentionally. He provided a detailed plan to locate the body.

The identification ends five and a half years of uncertainty for the family, according to Me Mourad Battikh, lawyer for Delphine’s uncle and aunt. The cause of death remains unknown and questions about the night of 15 to 16 December 2020 persist.
