The 18th anniversary celebration of Partai Gerindra was held modestly at the residence of President RI and party Chairman Prabowo Subianto on Jalan Kertanegara IV, South Jakarta, on Friday, February 6, 2026. The thanksgiving event was attended by party cadres and related figures, where several messages were delivered.
Secretary General (Sekjen) of Partai Gerindra, Sugiono, extended apologies to the public disturbed by the installation of party banners and attributes along various roads. The installations were for commemorating the anniversary. "Minta maaf jika ada yang merasa terganggu dengan atribut-atribut dan bendera-bendera," Sugiono told reporters at the event site. He also instructed cadres to clean up the attributes starting the next day, February 7, 2026. Sugiono explained that the placements reflected the party's joyful spirit after long struggles.
On the same occasion, Prabowo Subianto gave directives to cadres in executive, legislative, and SOE positions. Through DPP Daily Chairman Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, Prabowo emphasized the need for self-vigilance. "Dan menjaga uang rakyat, dan tidak melakukan perbuatan tercela, dan tadi sudah disampaikan bahwa apabila ada kader yang melakukan, maka kemudian tidak akan mendapat pembelaan, serta perlakuan khusus," Dasco conveyed Prabowo's message.
Additionally, the event touched on support for Prabowo serving a second term in the 2029 presidential election. Dasco stated that Prabowo would decide on next steps after evaluating the success of the first period. Similar support came from PKB Chairman Muhaimin Iskandar (Cak Imin) and Gerindra Honorary Board Chairman Ahmad Muzani, who chanted "Prabowo President two periods" at the anniversary event. PAN Deputy Chairman Eddy Soeparno also affirmed full support for Prabowo, though suggesting Zulkifli Hasan as vice presidential candidate. Meanwhile, PDI Perjuangan Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto respected other parties' stances and chose to focus on tangible work for the people.
