House fully prepared for Marcos' fifth State of the Nation Address

The House of Representatives is one hundred percent ready for President Marcos' fifth State of the Nation Address with security measures already in place.

Retired police Brig. Gen. Ferdinand Melchor Dela Cruz, the chamber's sergeant-at-arms, told reporters on Thursday that no disruptions are expected inside the Batasang Pambansa complex. The Philippine National Police has deployed about 22,000 officers to secure the event.

Dela Cruz said contingency plans are in place for scenarios such as earthquakes or other natural calamities. He noted that preparations have been toned down compared to previous years in terms of guests and expenditures due to recent crises.

The annual address is scheduled for the fourth Monday of July. Invited guests will be asked to wear modest clothing with no red carpets as part of efforts to keep preparations simple but dignified.
