President Lee Jae Myung arrived in Brussels on Tuesday as part of his 10-day European trip.
President Lee Jae Myung arrived at Melsbroek Air Base with First Lady Kim Hea Kyung. A senior Belgian Foreign Ministry protocol official welcomed the couple on behalf of King Philippe. Lee met shortly afterward with members of the South Korean community in Belgium, home to around 5,000 nationals and descendants. “South Korea will provide assistance to help you achieve your goals, including through policies,” he said. On Wednesday he will hold bilateral talks with Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever and make a courtesy call on King Philippe. He is also scheduled to meet European Commission President Ursula Gertrud von der Leyen.
