A man in his 50s has died in a traffic accident north of Värnamo, where his car collided with a truck. The crash occurred just before 6 p.m. on Monday evening on road 846. Police are investigating the cause, but no one is suspected of a crime.
The traffic accident occurred around 6 p.m. on Monday evening on road 846, the old E4, between Klevshult and Hörle bruk, about 10 kilometers north of Värnamo. According to police, the man in his 50s died in the collision, and relatives have been notified. The truck driver escaped with no serious injuries.
Police spokesperson Martina Gradian commented: “It is unclear how the accident happened; the investigation will show. But it was a powerful collision. Tow trucks have been called for both vehicles, which will now be examined. It is unclear about any criminal classification at the moment, but no one is suspected of a crime.”
The road was closed after the accident and is expected to remain closed until around midnight, according to Trafikverket. The cause of the crash remains unknown, and no one is currently suspected of a crime according to both sources.
