Ministry of Religious Affairs to hold hilal sighting in 96 locations for Ramadan start

The activity will take place in 96 locations throughout Indonesia. The isbat session is scheduled for the same day at Auditorium H.M. Rasjidi, Kemenag Office, Jalan M H Thamrin No. 6, Jakarta.

Direktor General of Islamic Community Guidance at Kemenag, Abu Rokhmad, stated that the final decision on the determination of 1 Ramadan 1447 H will be officially announced after the session via press conference. "The results of hisab and rukyat will be discussed together. The final decision will be conveyed to the public to serve as a common guide for Muslims in Indonesia," he said last week.

The isbat session will be attended by various parties, including ambassadors from friendly countries, the Chair of Commission VIII of the DPR RI, representatives from the Supreme Court, the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), and the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG). Additionally, representatives from the Geospatial Information Agency (BIG), National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), Bosscha Observatory ITB, Jakarta Planetarium, falak experts from various Islamic organizations, leaders of Islamic community organizations, pesantren, and the Kemenag Hisab Rukyat Team will attend.

This event aims to discuss the results of hisab and rukyat to provide guidance for Muslims in Indonesia regarding the start of Ramadan.
