South Carolina equestrian team defeats top-ranked Georgia 16-3

The No. 5 South Carolina equestrian team secured a decisive 16-3 victory over No. 1 Georgia on Saturday, sweeping all Most Outstanding Performer honors. This win marked the first time in program history that the Gamecocks have beaten the top-ranked team in back-to-back competitions, snapping a seven-meet losing streak against the Bulldogs. The team remains undefeated at home.

The South Carolina equestrian team (8-4 overall) hosted Georgia (7-3) in Blythewood, South Carolina, on Saturday, February 15, 2026, and dominated across all disciplines to claim the high-scoring triumph. Head coach Carol Gwin praised the effort, stating, “This was a huge victory for this team. They’ve been working very hard this year, and I think the results showed today. A huge shoutout to our consistent performers, but also to some new faces in the lineup who are starting to produce points as well!”
