Spider-Noir villains officially revealed at CCXP

At CCXP, official badges and a teaser video have unveiled the villains from the upcoming Marvel TV show Spider-Noir, featuring designs inspired by 1930s New York. The series stars Nicolas Cage as the titular character in a gritty reimagining of the Spider-Man mythos set in the 1930s. Costumes for characters like Sandman and Silvermane evoke the era's mobster aesthetic.

The reveal comes via day-badges at CCXP, accompanied by a video that includes a riff on the Spider-Man theme tune. Spider-Noir presents a grounded version of the Spider-Man story, focusing on a world of mobsters and crime bosses with minimal spandex, unlike earlier adaptations.

The characters introduced include Jack Huston as Sandman, Brendan Gleeson as Silvermane, Li Jun Li as Cat Hardy—a version of Black Cat—and Abraham Popoola in an unknown role. An unidentified actor portrays Electro. Sandman previously appeared in the 2007 film Spider-Man 3, played by Thomas Haden Church, while Jamie Foxx depicted Electro in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and reprised the role in Spider-Man: No Way Home.

This marks the first live-action appearances for Silvermane, a classic mobster boss, and Black Cat, known as Felicia Hardy in the comics as an antihero who often shifts from enemy to lover of Spider-Man. In Spider-Noir comics, Black Cat runs a club. The protagonist is private eye Ben Reilly, not Peter Parker.

The costumes draw from 1930s New York style, raising questions about the villains' origins. In comics, Sandman gains powers from atomic radiation and Electro from advanced technology, both anachronistic for the 1930s setting. The show may provide new origin stories or depict them as established criminals when Ben Reilly acquires his abilities.

A recent trailer had offered shadowy glimpses of Nicolas Cage's Spider-Noir and Li Jun Li's Cat Hardy, building anticipation for the series.
