Billlie unveils pre-release single cloud palace ~ false awakening

K-pop group Billlie has released their pre-release single 'cloud palace ~ false awakening,' marking the finale of their 'palace' trilogy that began in 2022. The track features dreamy vocals and synths, accompanied by two genre-spanning remixes. In an interview, members discussed the song's themes of blurred realities and personal growth.

Billlie's 'cloud palace ~ false awakening' serves as the grand finale to their 'palace' trilogy, initiated in 2022. The song immerses listeners in a mystical landscape with gentle, airy vocals and a synth lead that builds from emptiness to a fuller chorus, emphasizing the group's storytelling prowess. Accompanying the original are two remixes: the 'Before moonset mix,' which adopts a quicker tempo and house music elements for a danceable vibe, and the 'Before moonrise mix,' incorporating Latin influences via Spanish guitar strums.

In an interview with Sweety High, members elaborated on the track's narrative. MOON SUA described it as capturing 'the moments of confusion and uncertainty that arise when the boundary between dreams and reality becomes blurred, as well as the moment of coming face-to-face with ourselves.' SIYOON added that it represents a 'new starting point' to share the group's expanded story, highlighting growth through realization.

Looking ahead to their upcoming album, MOON SUA noted a focus on 'expressing the emotional narrative in a more musically detailed way,' using elements like tone, rhythm, and sound texture to show emotional shifts. HARAM emphasized how the remixes reinterpret a single emotion across genres, allowing the story to 'open up in multiple ways.' SUHYEON viewed the single as bridging the trilogy's end and a new era, evoking 'the lingering feeling and change that comes afterward.'

Favorite lyrics included SHEON's pick: '구름 그 위로 몸이 떠올라 이 순간 자유로운 난 moonlight' ('my body goes up reaching the skyline higher than clouds shining down like moonlight'), evoking a sense of freedom. HARUNA favored '날 부른 이름 듣고 있으니까 여기' ('I’m hearing my name you left in the wind'), praising its emotional connection.

TSUKI anticipated a wide range of colors in the album, centered on emotional cores without a single genre. SHEON stressed expanding sounds to match emotions while maintaining consistency.

Reflecting on experiences, TSUKI and SIYOON shared insights from collaborating with Patti LaBelle and Megan Thee Stallion on KPOPPED, gaining confidence for future challenges. MOON SUA and SUHYEON recalled highlights from their 2025 world tour, like fans singing along across countries. For 2026, SIYOON and HARAM hoped to deepen fan connections through content and share their growth process. HARUNA and SUHYEON expressed gratitude to fans, emphasizing togetherness and sincerity.
