Cirque Ma’Ceo, North America’s premier touring equestrian circus, will bring its production to the Hernando County Fairgrounds in Brooksville from March 13 to 15. The show, titled The Year of the Horse, highlights the partnership between humans and horses through acrobatics and storytelling. Tickets are available online for the intimate big-top performances.
Cirque Ma’Ceo was created by ninth-generation equestrian acrobat Olissio Zoppe. The 90-minute show celebrates the bond between horse and human, featuring horsemanship, acrobatics, and theatrical elements. Performed under an intimate European-style big top, the production positions the horses as the central stars rather than mere supporting acts.
The international cast includes elite equestrian and circus artists who work alongside a diverse group of horses, such as Friesians, Andalusians, Akhal-Tekes, a Nokota, and a miniature stallion. Each performance emphasizes trust, communication, and artistry between the riders and their equine partners.
