Disney Adventure embarks on maiden voyage from Singapore

Disney Cruise Line launched its first ship in Asia on March 10, 2026, with the Disney Adventure departing Singapore on its maiden voyage. The vessel, the eighth in the fleet, features unique adaptations including the first castle at sea. It targets Southeast Asian audiences with theme park-level storytelling.

Disney Cruise Line marked a significant expansion on March 10, 2026, when the Disney Adventure set sail from Singapore on its inaugural voyage. This ship represents the company's entry into the Asian market, where the nearest Disney theme park is located more than 1,500 miles away in Hong Kong.

Unlike previous vessels built from the ground up, the Disney Adventure was created by Walt Disney Imagineering adapting an existing ship to incorporate iconic Disney stories tailored for Southeast Asian guests. After months of local market research, the team introduced innovations such as the first castle at sea in Disney Cruise Line history, Marvel’s inaugural roller coaster at sea, multimedia dining experiences, and live stage productions.

Joe Schott, President of Disney Signature Experiences, highlighted the ship's role in global growth, stating, “It brings together our storytelling, entertainment, and legendary service in one immersive experience, creating memories for guests that stay with them long after the voyage ends.”

Booking data indicates strong appeal among newcomers: more than 90 percent of passengers are first-time Disney Cruise Line guests, with most new to cruising overall. Families comprise the majority, aligning with regional multigenerational travel trends. Nearly all these first-timers already engage with Disney through films, theme parks, television, or products.

Disney Cruise Line plans further expansion, aiming for a fleet of 13 ships by 2031, including five under development. Partnerships, such as with Oriental Land Co. for Japan sailings in 2029, are in progress. The current fleet is over 80 percent booked for fiscal year 2026, following the November 2025 debut of the Disney Destiny in Fort Lauderdale.
