Arrowhead Game Studios rolled out Helldivers 2 version 6.0.3 on February 10, available across all platforms as update 1.006.003 for console users. This patch introduces the cyborg faction's return, following their seizure of Star of Peace schematics by automatons on behalf of the Cyborg Legion.
The update's narrative centers on missions in Cyberstan's cities, where Helldivers aim to halt cyborg production, destroy mega factories, and dismantle symbolic statues. A new mechanic, the Galactic Reinforcement Counter, tracks deployable Helldivers in the Battle for Cyberstan; reaching zero signifies defeat.
New enemies include Agitators, heavily armored commanders controlling squads; Radicals, cybernetically enhanced close-combat fighters; and the Vox Engine, a propaganda-spewing war machine with dual laser cannons, rockets, and laser gatlings.
Balance changes feature an increase in C4's Demolition Force from 30 to 40, alongside missile accuracy improvements. Crash fixes address issues in missions like Convoy, Rapid Acquisition, and Confiscate Assets, as well as startup, shutdown, and ship entry problems.
Weapon and stratagem fixes correct audio for the SH-51 Directional Shield, reloading glitches for the R-72 Censor, hit effects for the LAS-16 Trident, and ensure Gunship Facilities are destructible by Hellbombs. Miscellaneous updates include audio restoration for Super Destroyer videos in Simplified Chinese and reduced likelihood of unawarded medals in Commando Operations.
The patch coincides with the Siege Breakers Warbond and availability of the War Horses armor set in the Superstore. Arrowhead notes a potential follow-up patch for cyborg adjustments.
