Indian Midcap and Smallcap indices have shown strong gains while the broader market remains weak. Concentrated investments have lifted select segments even as Largecap stocks face selling pressure.
Nifty Midcap 150 reached a record high. Smallcap 250 also neared its previous peak.
Broader market breadth has stayed weak with few gainers overall. Foreign institutional investors have exited Bluechip stocks, which has led the Nifty 50 to underperform.
The market remains in a consolidation phase. Analysts note that improved buying interest in Largecaps is still awaited.
