Seiko introduces HUF limited edition Seiko 5 Sports watch

Seiko has unveiled the Seiko 5 Sports SRPM09 HUF Limited Edition, a collaborative timepiece inspired by a 1970s chronograph. The watch features a semi-transparent dial in HUF's signature green and draws from the brand's San Francisco skateboarding roots. It will be available in March 2026 as a limited run of 7,000 pieces.

Seiko continues its tradition of reviving classic designs through the 5 Sports collection with the new SRPM09 HUF Limited Edition. This model takes inspiration from the 1970s Seiko 7015-6010 Time Sonar Chronograph, which featured a semi-transparent dial revealing day and date wheels beneath, evoking a sonar screen.

The collaboration partners Seiko with HUF, a lifestyle brand founded in 2002 by skateboarder Keith Hufnagel in San Francisco. HUF began as a skate brand and expanded into clothing and accessories influenced by action sports culture. The watch incorporates HUF's vibrant green shade for its semi-transparent dial, which the source describes as refining the original concept more effectively than the 1970s blueish-green version.

The timepiece uses the Seiko 5 Sports Field series case measuring 39.4mm in diameter, 11.6mm thick, and 48.1mm lug-to-lug. It comes with a 20mm-wide three-row bracelet and a folding clasp with push-button release. The dial includes slim applied hour markers, an orange triangular marker at 12 o'clock, black segments at 3 and 9 o'clock, a day/date window, and the word 'automatic.' A 60-minute scale replaces the original's tachymeter, with an inner seconds scale. Lume fills the hour and minute hands, while the seconds hand is orange. The lower dial displays the HUF logo.

The exhibition case back, in matching green, shows a San Francisco street map pattern and the original HUF logo, offering views of the Seiko 4R36 automatic movement. This caliber runs at 21,600 vibrations per hour with 24 jewels and a 41-hour power reserve. The push-pull crown enables manual winding, time setting, and day/date adjustment.

Priced at €410, the watch echoes the aesthetic of Seiko's 2022 limited editions with designer Kosuke Kawamura. It goes on sale in March 2026, with details available on Seiko's website.
