Sheinbaum comments on Salazar statements about Rocha and the 'ice law'

President Claudia Sheinbaum addressed on Monday the recent statements by former ambassador Ken Salazar regarding Sinaloa governor with license Rubén Rocha Moya and the pause in relations with the United States after the capture of Ismael 'El Mayo' Zambada.

During her morning conference, Sheinbaum described Salazar's statements in an interview with N+ as “very interesting.” She highlighted that the former ambassador claimed to have “no indication” that Rocha Moya was involved with organized crime.

Sheinbaum also noted that Salazar mentioned respecting former President Andrés Manuel López Obrador and having no information about protection for crime during his term. She acknowledged that “it was public that the relationship with the ambassador was put on pause due to possible United States interference.”

The president pointed out contradictions between what Salazar said and the exhibition of the aircraft used in Zambada's transfer. She recalled that the Attorney General's Office is investigating whether Salazar lied about the operation.
