Building on pre-election security setups, authorities opened polls on March 8, 2026, at the Huila Governor's Office square in Neiva, with police, military, political authorities, and the National Civil Registry ensuring transparency.
The National Police secured all 33 Huila municipalities, urban and rural, reporting zero public order disruptions. Colonel Javier Alberto Duarte Reyes, Huila Police commander, confirmed calm in areas like La Plata and the west, urging voter turnout: “We invite all citizens to participate actively at polling stations.”
In Huila, House of Representatives results included: Pacto Histórico list with 82,223 votes (20.60%), securing one seat; Yamid Sanabria (3,854 votes, 0.96%), Natalia Caviedes (21,240 votes), and Diana Monje (10,687 votes) fell short.
