HBO Max has confirmed its launch in the UK and Ireland on March 26, 2026, bringing a wealth of HBO, Warner Bros., and DC content to subscribers. The service will debut with the full first season of the Emmy-winning medical drama The Pitt and integrate TNT Sports. Subscription plans start at £4.99 per month, with upcoming releases including new seasons of Euphoria and House of the Dragon.
HBO Max, the streaming platform from Warner Bros. Discovery, will arrive in the UK and Ireland on March 26, 2026, after years of anticipation. Previously available in over 110 territories including the US, it will offer content from HBO, Warner Bros. Pictures, Warner Bros. Television, DC Studios, and Max Originals.
At launch, subscribers can access the entire first season of The Pitt, a critically acclaimed medical drama starring Noah Wyle that won five Primetime Emmys in 2025, including Outstanding Drama Series. It explores the professional and personal challenges faced by healthcare workers in a Pittsburgh hospital. Episodes from the second season will follow weekly. The service will also stream all seasons of Euphoria, with the third season premiering in April 2026, and the third season of House of the Dragon later that year. Other highlights include the DC series Lanterns debuting in summer 2026 and the Harry Potter TV series in 2026 or 2027.
Library content features complete runs of Succession, Friends—which left Netflix at the end of 2025—The Sopranos, and Game of Thrones. Films available include Superman, One Battle After Another, Sinners, A Minecraft Movie, and Dune: Part One, though recent blockbusters may not be on the basic tier.
Sports enthusiasts will gain access to TNT Sports, covering Premier League football, UFC, Grand Slam tennis, and more, via a £30.99 monthly add-on. Subscription options in the UK include Basic with Ads at £4.99 (Full HD on two devices), Standard with Ads at £5.99 (with downloads), ad-free Standard at £9.99, and Premium at £14.99 (4K Ultra HD on four devices). Ireland prices are similar in euros, starting at €5.99.
The platform will integrate with Sky and Now, offering a bundle for existing Now subscribers and reaching over 10 million households. JB Perrette, CEO of Global Streaming and Games at Warner Bros. Discovery, stated: "After decades of delighting audiences in the UK & Ireland with our remarkable stories and brands, it’s a huge thrill to finally bring it all together on HBO Max."
Andrew Georgiou, President & Managing Director for Warner Bros. Discovery UK & Ireland, added: "Launching HBO Max in the UK & Ireland marks a significant moment for viewers here. HBO Max will offer them their most loved series and movies from HBO, Warner Bros. and DC Studios, alongside premium sports from TNT Sports."
However, the service's future remains uncertain amid Netflix's pursuit of Warner Bros. Discovery's streaming and film divisions, potentially leading to a merger or integration.
