Kiwanis Club of Canandaigua hosts 12th Chef & Sip Challenge

The Kiwanis Club of Canandaigua is bringing back its annual Chef & Sip Challenge fundraiser on March 8. Local chefs and beverage makers will compete in tastings at Hotel Canandaigua, with proceeds supporting community projects. Advance tickets are available for $40 per person.

The 12th annual Chef & Sip Challenge, organized by the Kiwanis Club of Canandaigua, is set for Sunday, March 8, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Hotel Canandaigua, located at 205 Lakeshore Blvd. This event features sample-sized tastings from local chefs and food vendors, paired with refreshments like wine, beer, spirits, and other beverages from area businesses. Participants will vie for recognition in various categories, fostering a competitive yet community-oriented atmosphere.

Proceeds from the fundraiser will bolster the club's community project fund. In previous years, these funds have supported initiatives such as the Inclusion in Motion Playground, the annual Easter Egg Hunt at Canandaigua Elementary, scholarships for local youth, and the Salvation Army Christmas Party. The event also includes dozens of silent auction items, adding to the appeal for attendees. One highlight is a raffle for a seven-night vacation for four to destinations including Mexico, Orlando, or Freeport.

Last year's edition raised more than $12,000, demonstrating the event's growing impact. Tickets can be purchased in advance for $40 per person or $70 per couple, with door prices at $45 per person or $80 per couple. They are available online, through Kiwanis members, or at Canandaigua National Bank locations.

This longstanding tradition underscores the club's commitment to local causes, drawing participants and supporters to celebrate culinary talents while contributing to worthwhile projects.
