Paradise TV series likely to end after third season on Hulu

The post-apocalyptic drama Paradise, starring Sterling K. Brown, is set to conclude after a potential third season on Hulu, according to executive producer John Hoberg. Hoberg indicated that the show's storyline is designed to wrap up in a way that precludes a fourth season. Hulu has not yet renewed the series for Season 3.

The Hulu series Paradise, created by Dan Fogelman, follows Secret Service agent Xavier Collins, played by Sterling K. Brown, who lives in an underground bunker following a major climate catastrophe that devastated the Earth's surface. In its current second season, which premiered on Monday, Xavier ventures topside in search of his wife Teri, whom he believed had died but recently learned survived the crisis.

Executive producer and writer John Hoberg, in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, hinted that the show is unlikely to extend beyond three seasons. "We know what the end is, and it's an end that would make it very difficult to make a Season 4 come afterward," Hoberg said. He explained that the creative team has adhered to Fogelman's original vision of a three-season arc. "We knew we were in the bunker Season 1, and we knew we were going out and Xavier was going to look for his wife in Season 2," Hoberg added. "We also knew that we were headed for a collision of two different worlds."

Season 2 introduces new characters in the topside world, including Annie, a Graceland tour guide portrayed by Shailene Woodley, and the mysterious traveler Link, played by Thomas Doherty. TVLine has contacted Hulu for comment on the potential Season 3 renewal.

The series maintains its focus on the high points of the narrative, blending bunker life with surface exploration and interpersonal conflicts.
