Quality certification service launched based on Dire Dawa free trade zone

Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed announced that a quality certification service is being provided based on the Dire Dawa free trade zone and dry port foundation. This service, inaugurated by the Ethiopian Conformity Assessment Enterprise's Dire Dawa branch, adheres to international standards.

In Addis Ababa on Katit 29, 2018 EC (corresponding to the Ethiopian calendar date), Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed delivered this message via a social media post. He highlighted the inauguration of the Dire Dawa branch office as a key development.

The Ethiopian Conformity Assessment Enterprise (ECAE) provides quality certification services following international standardization systems. These services target manufacturers, service providers, exporters, importers, contract manufacturing facilities, research institutions, and the general public. To enhance accessibility in the Dire Dawa region for local manufacturers and service providers, a new testing laboratory has been established, leveraging the free trade zone and dry port infrastructure.

The enterprise has previously offered certifications for food oils, detergent products, various food items, personal care and hygiene products, as well as construction materials and inputs. This initiative supports trade and economic growth by ensuring compliance with global standards.
