Tony Mårtensson recently chose to leave his role as assisterande sportchef at Linköping HC, following the sacking of his colleague Peter Jakobsson. This development was reported by Expressen, which states that Mårtensson is now in consideration for a new assignment as assistant sports director in another SHL club.
Specifically, the newspaper indicates that Mårtensson is a potential fit for bottom-placed Örebro HK, where he would assist Henrik Löwdahl. Expressen reports that the parties have met recently, though it remains unclear whether Mårtensson is the primary candidate for the job.
When contacted by Expressen, Löwdahl responded via SMS: “Jag har inga kommentarer till de uppgifterna.”
Örebro is currently engaged in a tight relegation fight with HV71 to avoid the play-out spots, with several rounds remaining in the regular season. According to Expressen, the club does not plan to fill the position until after the season concludes.
