Judge Pedraz summons former Civil Guard director as investigated in Leire Díez case

Magistrate Santiago Pedraz has summoned former Civil Guard director Leonardo Marcos to testify as investigated on September 10 in the case of an alleged plot affecting the PSOE.

National Court judge Santiago Pedraz ordered the summons at the request of the unified popular prosecution led by the Popular Party. Two Civil Guard generals declared before the UCO and the magistrate that they had received pressure from Marcos in investigations affecting the PSOE or Pedro Sánchez's circle.

General Rafael Yuste recounted that Marcos ordered a change to a UCO report on David Sánchez, brother of the government president. According to Yuste, Marcos was angry on July 12, 2024, because he had not known the report beforehand and requested another one exonerating Sánchez by July 19.

In the same resolution, Pedraz agreed to take testimony as a witness from the chief prosecutor of Badajoz, José Luis Tejuca, and to request documentation from the State Attorney General's Office and the Badajoz Provincial Prosecutor's Office related to the complaint against Leire Díez.
