OKA extends brand into wallcoverings category

Home interiors brand OKA is launching a new wallpaper collection in April, marking its entry into additional home decoration areas. The collection features three iconic prints in five colorways, building on the brand's recent Icons range. This move responds to customer demand for extending signature patterns throughout the home.

OKA, a UK-based home interiors brand, has announced plans to broaden its offerings beyond traditional furniture and accessories into new home decoration categories, beginning with wallcoverings. The inaugural wallpaper collection will debut in selected stores and online in April. It includes three established prints—Ocellus, Areca, and Ghini—each available in five colorways.

This expansion follows the earlier this year launch of OKA's Icons range, which highlights the brand's most enduring designs in furniture, lighting, textiles, and accessories. The wallpaper patterns are drawn directly from these Icons, applying them to walls after prior use in upholstery, cushions, and homewares.

Aalish Yorke-Long, OKA's chief customer officer, described the initiative as "a significant moment for the brand." She noted that customer feedback consistently requested more applications for OKA's signature prints. "Wallpaper felt like the natural next step—it allows customers to make a real statement with patterns they already know and love," Yorke-Long said. She added that this is the start of a wider strategy to enter adjacent categories where demand exists, maintaining OKA's quality and aesthetic.

Sue Jones, co-founder and creative director, emphasized the thoughtful development process. "We've long thought about creating a collection of OKA wallpaper, as it's a natural extension of our emporium of elegant furniture and homeware, but we wanted to get it right," Jones stated. She expressed pride in the first three designs, which embody the brand's craftsmanship and enduring style, ensuring the wallcoverings last for years.

The announcement comes after OKA expanded physically with new sites at Redbrick Mill in West Yorkshire, Fenwick in Newcastle, and an outlet near Bicester Village. The company reported a 29% sales increase in its latest quarter and operates through 12 UK showrooms, online channels, and an interior designer network.
