Rögle BK has completed its defensive roster for the upcoming season after Paul LaDue signed a contract extension on Tuesday. Sportchef Hampus Sjöström stated that the current squad is expected to start the campaign, though uncertainty remains over forward Tinus Luc Koblar.
Rögle has added seven players and lost seven others since reaching the finals last spring. LaDue's signing filled the final spot on the back line after the club released Lucas Ekeståhl Jonsson and Mattias Göransson and brought in three new defensemen.
Sjöström told Helsingborgs Dagblad that the decision on LaDue followed an assessment of market options and the player's performance during the spring. The club has no plans for further defensive additions.
Forward Tinus Luc Koblar, an 18-year-old Norwegian center, signed a three-year deal with the Toronto Maple Leafs after his World Championship performance. He plans to join Rögle in August if he does not secure an NHL roster spot and would leave in September. Sjöström noted that the situation will become clearer then and said Rögle will continue monitoring the market accordingly.
