Businessman with criminal record arrested for couple's murder in DF

Evandro Gabriel Ferreira, 60, was arrested on Friday (17) suspected of killing Rayane Lins Farias Campos and Leonardo de Oliveira Campos in a gated community in Ponte Alta.

The businessman was captured hours after the bodies were found at the Bosque Imperial gated community. The bodies of Rayane, a 38-year-old public servant, and Leonardo, 42, were discovered on Friday morning.

Ferreira has an extensive criminal record. In 2008, he was convicted of shooting his nephew Alex Johne Vieira after spending the day drinking. He served a three-year sentence in open regime.

He was also convicted of stalking his ex-wife under the Maria da Penha Law, receiving a sentence of 10 months and 15 days plus R$500 in damages. The double homicide will be investigated by the 20th Police Station in Gama.
