Evacuation of KA Purwojaya completed, nine trains canceled

The evacuation of the KA Purwojaya train that derailed at Kedunggedeh Station in Bekasi has been completed, allowing the upstream track to be used at limited speed. However, nine train services from Daop 1 Jakarta are canceled today to normalize operations. PT KAI promises full compensation for affected passengers.

The KA Purwojaya (58F) incident occurred on Saturday (25/10) when its carriages derailed at Km 56+1/2 on the platform of Kedunggedeh Station, Bekasi, West Java. The evacuation process was completed at 04.26 WIB on Sunday (26/10), followed by track repairs allowing the upstream track (eastbound) from Km 55+900 to 56+500 to be used at 10 km per hour.

KA 134 Parahyangan from Gambir to Bandung was the first train to pass at 04.47 WIB. However, to ensure normalization, PT KAI Daop 1 Jakarta canceled nine services today, including KA 26 Argo Merbabu (Gambir-Semarang Tawang), KA 50F Purwojaya (Gambir-Cilacap), KA 114 Sawunggalih (Pasar Senen-Kutoarjo), KA 118 Gunung Jati (Gambir-Semarang Tawang), KA 122 Cakrabuana (Gambir-Cirebon), KA 132 Argo Parahyangan (Gambir-Bandung), KA 204 Tegal Bahari (Pasar Senen-Tegal), KA 178 Tawang Jaya Premium (Pasar Senen-Semarang Tawang), and KA 128 Pangandaran (Gambir-Bandung).

The previous day, on Saturday, eight services were also canceled, such as KA 58F Purwojaya (Kedunggedeh-Cilacap) and KA 57F Purwojaya (Kroya-Gambir), along with several Commuterline and long-distance trains. Manager of Public Relations for PT KAI Daop 1 Jakarta, Ixfan Hendriwintoko, stated, "We are continuously working to restore all services to normal as soon as possible." He also apologized for the inconvenience to customers.

Affected passengers receive compensation in the form of a 100 percent ticket refund (excluding booking fees) through station counters, Contact Center 121, or the Access by KAI app, as well as service recovery or onward travel arrangements per regulations.
