Graves vandalized at Knutby cemetery

Graves at Knutby cemetery have been repeatedly vandalized throughout spring and the past month, with flowers pulled up, decorations discarded and number plates removed from between five and ten graves.

Staff from Almunge parish have on several occasions found graves that have been disturbed. Flowers have sometimes been moved from one grave to another.

Cemetery manager Henrik Larsson says the incidents have gone on throughout spring and escalated over the past month. The parish is increasing its presence at the site, documenting the damage and preparing a police report.

– It is very sad that people cannot respect others’ final rest, Larsson says. He urges that the graves be left alone.
