It featured interactive sessions and cultural experiences for attendees.
The Seollal celebration, one of South Korea's most significant national holidays, took place in Cairo, featuring an audiovisual presentation that outlined the holiday's history and customs, along with a showcase of key tourist destinations across Korea. The session highlighted elements of Korean folklore, seasonal traditions, and culinary practices tied to the occasion.
Attendees engaged in traditional Korean games and tried on the Hanbok, the country's traditional dress, to immerse themselves in the festive atmosphere. The program wrapped up with a display of classic Seollal dishes and tastings of Korean New Year cuisine.
Oh Sung-ho emphasised that such initiatives are crucial for fostering mutual understanding and people-to-people exchanges. The 'Ahlan Korea' series is set to run throughout 2026 in partnership with the Korean Tourism Organisation, with each edition focusing on a different Korean city to offer Egyptian audiences a broad view of the nation's heritage, arts, and landmarks.
