Manon from KATSEYE takes temporary hiatus for health

KATSEYE announced that member Manon is stepping away temporarily from group activities to focus on her health and wellbeing. The decision was shared via the group's fan community on Weverse. The remaining members will continue with scheduled activities during this period.

KATSEYE, the six-member girl group formed in 2023 through the reality competition series The Debut: Dream Academy, made the announcement late Friday, February 20, 2026. The notice, posted at 6:45 p.m. ET on Weverse by HYBE and Geffen Records, stated: “After open and thoughtful conversations together, we are sharing that Manon will be taking a temporary hiatus from group activities to focus on her health and wellbeing.”

The message continued: “We fully support this decision. KATSEYE remains committed to showing up for one another and for the fans who mean everything to us. The group will continue scheduled activities during this time, and we look forward to being together again when the time is right. Thank you to our EYEKONS for your continued love, patience, and understanding.” It was signed “HxG,” referring to the joint labels HYBE and Geffen Records.

Billboard has reached out to a representative for the group for further comment.

Since their debut, KATSEYE has released two EPs: SIS (Soft Is Strong) in 2024 and Beautiful Chaos in 2025. The latter included their first Billboard Hot 100 entries, “Gnarly” at No. 82 and “Gabriela” at No. 26. Earlier this month at the Grammy Awards, the group received nominations for best new artist and best pop duo/group performance for “Gabriela,” and they performed “Gnarly” as part of the best new artist medley.

Manon Bannerman, born in Switzerland, joined KATSEYE after gaining recognition for her fashion and lifestyle videos on TikTok and Instagram starting in 2021.
