Marist University's track and field teams competed at the 2026 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference indoor championships held February 21-22 at the New York Armory. The men's team finished fifth with 49 points, while the women's team placed seventh with 53 points. Standout performances included individual titles for Amari Mathis in the 60 meters and Julianna Mirabile in the 800 meters.
The 2026 MAAC Indoor Track and Field Championships took place at the New York Armory in New York City on February 21-22. Marist University's men's team tied for fifth place with 49 points, matching Saint Peter's score in a field led by Sacred Heart with 114 points. The women's team finished seventh with 53 points, more than doubling their total from the previous season, behind Quinnipiac's winning 173.5 points.
Amari Mathis, a senior from Wilmington, Delaware, led the Marist men by winning the 60-meter dash in 6.74 seconds and placing third in the 200 meters with 21.76 seconds. Ryan Trocolar set a school record in the 400 meters, finishing fourth at 48.09 seconds. Miles Chamberlain placed fifth in the mile at 4:14.74, and Raffi Buchakjian took sixth in the 3,000 meters with a personal best of 8:28.61. The 1,600-meter relay team earned third place in 3:17.68, and Daniel Vargas achieved fifth in the pole vault at 14 feet 0.5 inches, a personal best. Hayden Mundrake broke a school record in the weight throw with 46 feet 6 inches.
For the women, Julianna Mirabile, a sophomore from Loudonville, won the 800 meters in 2:18.645 seconds after leading the prelims. Alexandra Samperi, a sophomore, claimed the long jump title with 19 feet 5.5 inches, setting a school record. Gabrielle Bozeth, a freshman from Ballston Spa, placed third in the 200 meters at 25.14 seconds, following a school record in the prelims. The 3,200-meter relay team secured second place in a school-record 9:09.15. Mallory Holloway finished fifth in the 5,000 meters at 17:03.95, and Alicia Ramos took seventh in the 60-meter hurdles at 9.23 seconds.
Other local athletes shone: Jiles Addison from Cornwall High School, a senior at Iona, won the men's triple jump at 47 feet 7 inches. Daniella Johnson from Kingston High School, a freshman at Rider, placed fourth in shot put at 40 feet 5 inches and fifth in weight throw at 51 feet 1.75 inches.
