New kidney treatment unit opens at Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital

Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja has announced the opening of a new expanded kidney services unit at Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital.

The modern unit is located at the Level 5 Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital in Umoja II Embakasi Magharibi. It features modern machines and experienced staff to provide dialysis and specialized kidney disease treatment.

Governor Sakaja said during the launch that the expansion will improve access to quality and affordable care without the need for long travel. He added that the unit will offer tailored treatment plans along with nutrition advice and counseling support.

The services are available under the Social Health Authority programme. The launch forms part of ongoing improvements at the hospital including expansion of intensive care services and modern operating theatres.
