Nike has officially unveiled the Air Liquid Max, a new sneaker featuring a flexible, low-profile Air unit, set to debut on Air Max Day, March 26, 2026. The model draws inspiration from poison dart frogs and includes collaborations with rapper Yeat and Fragment Design's Hiroshi Fujiwara. Additional colorways are expected throughout the year.
Nike announced the Air Liquid Max silhouette on March 10, 2026, highlighting its point-loaded Air unit combined with Cushlon foam for enhanced comfort, described as the most comfortable Air Max model to date. The design incorporates a wide, bubbled midsole reminiscent of a gecko's foot pad, evolving from the DN8's aesthetic, with liquified soles inspired by poison dart frog toe pads for an amphibious feel.
Rapper Yeat showcased a green and black version in the music video for his track “Made It On Our Own” featuring EsDeeKid, as identified by sneaker leak account @Brandon1an on X. This aligns with recent Air Max trends, including wild Max Air cushioning.
Fragment Design founder Hiroshi Fujiwara revealed a collaboration featuring an all-black or triple-black colorway (SKU: IQ8601-001) with reinforced mesh, scaly armored overlays, a lightning bolt logo on the tongue, and “fragment concept testing” text on the lateral side panel. Chrome Swooshes, co-branded insoles in Fragment's blue tone, and special packaging complete the look. Priced at $225 USD in unisex sizing, the Fragment edition is slated for Spring 2026, potentially aligning with Air Max Day via Nike SNKRS and select retailers.
The inaugural release on March 26 will feature a black and neon green (or Green Apple) colorway via SNKRS, nodding to the sneaker's tropical inspirations. Nike's strategy includes multiple Fujiwara projects this year, such as Air Jordan 1s and Mind models.
