Spotify has compiled a list of 30 classic pop albums from the streaming era, which the platform defines as beginning in 2015. The selection draws from a survey of Spotify music editors and emphasizes quality, execution, and cultural resonance over popularity metrics. Notable inclusions feature works by artists such as Adele, Taylor Swift, and Billie Eilish.
Spotify announced its list of 30 "Classic Pop Albums of the Streaming Era" on February 13, 2026, marking a decade since the platform considers the streaming period to have started in 2015. The unranked compilation was curated through a survey of Spotify's music editors, focusing on albums that demonstrate overall quality, execution, and cultural resonance rather than stream counts or commercial popularity.
Among the highlighted releases are Adele's 25, Ariana Grande's thank u, next, Bruno Mars' 24K Magic, The Weeknd's Starboy, Charli XCX's Brat, Ed Sheeran's Divide, Dua Lipa's Future Nostalgia, Harry Styles' Harry's House, Olivia Rodrigo's SOUR, Justin Bieber's Purpose, Sabrina Carpenter's Short n' Sweet, and Carly Rae Jepsen's Emotion. Billie Eilish and Taylor Swift are the only artists with multiple entries: Eilish's WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO? and HIT ME HARD AND SOFT, and Swift's Reputation and Lover.
The list also incorporates less expected selections, including Jessie Ware's What's Your Pleasure?, Kacey Musgraves' Golden Hour, Selena Gomez's Revival, and SOPHIE's Oil of Every Pearl's Un-Insides. A Spotify press release states that the albums were chosen to reflect enduring artistic achievements.
"Together, these albums showcase a generation of artists using pop as a vehicle for experimentation and unfiltered emotion," the release notes. It adds, "They capture what pop can become when given space to mature: ambitious, expressive, and enduring."
This curation underscores the evolution of pop music in the digital age, highlighting works that have resonated culturally since 2015.
