Stone Island and New Balance are launching the second installment of their 574 Ghost collaboration, featuring three monochromatic suede sneakers. The collection emphasizes a single-material design for enhanced softness and cohesion. Release is scheduled for March 11, 2026, through Stone Island's website and select stores.
The Italian luxury brand Stone Island has partnered with New Balance to release a new set of 574 sneakers under the Ghost sub-line, marking the second collection in this theme. Introduced in September of the previous year, the initial Ghost pack featured three single-hued variants in chocolate brown, dark grey, and navy blue. This follow-up maintains the monochromatic approach, with suede covering the uppers and extending to the midsoles for the first time, creating a nearly uniform material except for laces, a tonal felt patch on the tongue, and the rubber outsole.
The sneakers arrive in three colorways aligned with Stone Island's Spring/Summer 2026 Ghost collection: Ardesia Blue (also described as deep slate blue or Slate Blue), Corteccia Beige (sandy or dark beige), and Polvere Grey (dusty, stark, or Dust Grey). Additional details include padding in the tongue, collar, and upper for comfort, stitch-and-turn construction to eliminate seams, a compass logo tongue patch, debossed 'Stone Island Product Research' text, a brushed 'N' logo, and ridged laces. The design evokes a soft, crushed velvet texture, consistent with Stone Island Ghost's focus on single-hue products like technical jackets and knitwear in military-inspired colors.
The 574 silhouette, originally designed by Steven Smith in 1988 as an affordable hybrid of the 575 and 576 running shoes, gained the Encap midsole around 1990. Variants differed by region, including the U.S., Japan, and Europe. Stone Island's collaboration with New Balance began in 2021, starting with running shoes and soccer cleats before entering lifestyle sneakers in 2023. This Ghost release follows a 2024 two-shoe project.
Priced at $220 based on prior drops, the collection launches on March 11, 2026, via Stoneisland.com—requiring sign-up for access—and select stores. Packaging matches the colorways.
