A man claiming to drive a general's car assaulted three SPBU workers in Cipinang, Pulogadung, East Jakarta, over a Pertalite barcode dispute. Victims suffered serious injuries including a broken tooth, while police are pursuing the suspect. The case is being handled seriously by Polda Metro Jaya to investigate potential involvement of rogue apparatus.
The assault incident occurred at SPBU 3413901 in Cipinang, Pulogadung, East Jakarta, involving a man suspected to be a rogue apparatus. According to operator Lukman Hakim (19), the dispute started over a mismatch in the Pertalite fuel barcode. The man repeatedly said, "Do you know this is a general's barcode? Don't you know this is a general's barcode?" and mentioned "Kapolda" while berating the staff.
Lukman said he was shocked and afraid, fearing the man might truly be an apparatus or armed, so the workers chose not to resist. His colleague, Abud Mahmudin (28), who approached to check the commotion, was punched in the eye causing dizziness, then on the cheek and behind the ear, resulting in a half-broken tooth and bleeding. "My tooth is broken in half, uneven. It bled because the nerve was hit when struck on the cheek," Abud said. As a result, he struggles to eat and speak, and underwent a medical examination on February 23 at 2:00 PM WIB at RS Polri Kramat Jati.
Another staff member, Mukhlisin (38), confirmed the man mentioned "general's car" and "Kapolda" in a circulating video. The perpetrator also took an operator's bag, but the staff opted to report to police to avoid escalation. Lukman suspects the man was drunk due to his emotional state, limp body, and difficulty opening the car door, though he couldn't confirm the breath smell.
Polda Metro Jaya, through Public Relations Head Kombes Polisi Budi Hermanto, stated that Polres Metro East Jakarta and Ditreskrimum are investigating the case. If proven to be a Polri member, it will be handed to Propam. SPBU management hopes for a thorough investigation to prevent misuse of institutional names.
