The National Collegiate Equestrian Association announced the Ride of the Week honors for Texas A&M equestrian team members Mattie Gustin in reining and Grace Shipman in fences, following the Aggies' 10-8 win over No. 3 SMU on Saturday.
Gustin, a senior, rode Tank to a score of 71.75 in reining, defeating her opponent by 0.75 points with no penalties. This performance earned her the meet-winning point and marked her seventh career Most Outstanding Performer honor, including two this season. Shipman, a sophomore, posted an 88.5 on Max in fences, topping her opponent by one point without penalties. It was her second career MOP honor.
The victory took place at the Hildebrand Equine Complex. Texas A&M’s equestrian team, known as the Aggies, returns to competition on March 7, traveling to face Auburn at the Auburn University Equestrian Center. These honors highlight the riders' key roles in the team's competitive edge in the National Collegiate Equestrian Association.
