On March 1, 2026, TOMORROW X TOGETHER, known as TXT, held the third night of their 2026 'MOA CON' concert at Seoul's KSPO Dome. At the event's conclusion, the group unveiled a trailer teasing their next album, featuring black and white images of the members and a voiceover mentioning thorns 'inside me.' The trailer, later posted on the HYBE YouTube channel, announced the album title as variations including '7TH YEAR: A Moment of Stillness in the Thorns,' '7TH YEAR: WHEN THE WIND BRIEFLY STOPPED IN THE THORN BUSH,' and '7TH YEAR: When the Wind Stops in the Briar,' with a pink thorny rose symbolizing lonely and painful emotions.
The 8th mini album is set for release on April 13, 2026, at 6:00 PM KST. This comeback follows the group's contract renewals with Big Hit Music, making it their first official activity post-re-signing. TXT also updated their logo with a pink theme and shared 'PRELUDE: Thorn Tree' video along with initial concept photos on social media. On March 2, KST, they released 'THORN' concept photos.
This release comes after TXT's 2025 album 'The Star Chapter: TOGETHER,' issued on July 21, which debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 with 65,000 units and achieved 1 million certified units in South Korea. The previous album was the second installment of the Star Chapter series, succeeding 'The Star Chapter: SANCTUARY' that reached No. 2 in 2024.
