Wesley's Place Live Music Venue, which has presented live music in the chapel of the First United Methodist Church of La Grange since 2022, is expanding its offerings for the 2026 season. The venue at 100 W. Cossitt Avenue will feature an acoustic triple bill on Friday, March 13, starting at 7 p.m.
The lineup includes acoustic singer-songwriter Jim Gary, who grew up in southeastern Michigan listening to 1960s music and has recently focused on transcribing and performing works by the late Chicago songwriter Michael P. Smith. More details are available at www.jimgary.com.
Joining him is The Milkman’s Kids, an acoustic trio known in the western suburbs for their diverse repertoire spanning bluegrass, new grass, folk, jazz, and more. They accompany themselves on instruments such as guitar, mandolin, mandocello, flute, harmonica, and penny whistle.
Folk singer-songwriter Mark Dvorak will host the evening and deliver an opening set. His original material has been described as “wondrous” and “profound,” and in 2012, WFMT 98.7 FM's Midnight Special radio show named him “Chicago’s official troubadour.” Visit www.markdvorak.com for further information.
Ellis, associated with the venue, commented on the expansion: “We’ve expanded our program for the 2026 season. We’ve added more shows to the schedule, and improved our publicity effort. Our last show was a near sellout. We’re really excited.”
Tickets cost $20 and can be purchased at the door, with advance reservations available at www.wesleysplacemusic.com.
