Activision has made Call of Duty: Black Ops and Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. The ports arrived quietly on July 9 after an announcement last month. Fans have reacted negatively to the pricing and lack of upgrades.
The two games, originally released in 2010 and 2012, cost $40 each. PlayStation Plus subscribers can purchase them for $20 until August 6. Season passes for downloadable content are available for $10 during the discount period and will rise to $30 afterward.
The ports include Zombies and other modes but provide no new content or features. They lack an FOV slider and 120 frames per second support, with only minor upscaling applied.
Reactions on Reddit have focused on the requirement to repurchase DLC and the split player base. Some users noted that similar pricing and features exist on Xbox versions of the games.
