Álex Márquez repeats victory at Spanish GP in Jerez

Álex Márquez won the MotoGP Spanish Grand Prix at Jerez, securing his second consecutive victory at the Andalusian track. His brother Marc Márquez crashed on the second lap, with Marco Bezzecchi and Fabio Di Giannantonio completing the podium. The race was marked by wind and mechanical issues for other riders.

Álex Márquez of Ducati Gresini dominated Sunday's race at Jerez Circuit with a time of 40:48.861. Starting from fifth on the grid, he overtook Marco Bezzecchi on the second lap and took the lead at turn 6, even passing his brother Marc.

Marc Márquez, the reigning world champion, started strongly but crashed at turn 11 due to crosswinds, as he and the podium riders noted. "This time it was our turn to fall. I enjoyed it, pity it was only a few laps, but life goes on," he told DAZN. Álex celebrated by beating his chest before 97,000 fans at Nieto-Peluqui corner.

Bezzecchi (Aprilia) finished second, 1.903 seconds behind, solidifying his championship lead, followed by Di Giannantonio (Ducati VR46) at 5.796 seconds back. Pecco Bagnaia retired due to a front brake issue. Jorge Martín placed fourth after climbing from tenth.

"There are no words to describe everything I feel... I want to thank everyone, they are incredible," said Álex Márquez after his fourth MotoGP win, Ducati's first this season. Other Spaniards like Raúl Fernández (sixth) and Pedro Acosta (tenth) earned points.
