President-elect Abelardo De la Espriella announced Alexandra Falla Zerrate as the new Minister of Information and Communications Technologies.
The appointment is part of the formation of the new government's cabinet. Falla Zerrate is a social communicator, holds a master's degree in political science and specializes in intellectual property, copyright and new technologies.
During the presentation, De la Espriella highlighted that technology and communications will be oriented toward the country's development. He noted that the sector will have female leadership and that Falla Zerrate will put technology at the service of the people.
Among the priorities of the ICT Ministry are boosting digital sovereignty, strengthening Colombian talent, reducing connectivity gaps and advancing state modernization. Falla Zerrate replaces Carina Murcia.
