APR FC secures Rwanda Premier League title with 3-1 victory

APR Football Club clinched the 2024/2025 Rwanda Premier League title after defeating Musanze FC 3-1 in their final match at Amahoro Stadium in Kigali. Bosco Ruboneka scored a hat-trick to lead the army side to victory. APR finished the season with 67 points from 30 matches, ahead of Rayon Sports on 63 points.

APR FC retained the Rwanda Premier League crown on Wednesday with a convincing 3-1 win over Musanze FC at Amahoro Stadium in Kigali. The result confirmed their championship status, marking another successful season for the army-backed club.

Bosco Ruboneka was the standout performer, netting a hat-trick that powered APR to the three goals. This performance underscored APR's dominance throughout the campaign, where they also lifted the Peace Cup earlier in the season.

With 67 points from 30 matches, APR finished five points clear of rivals Rayon Sports, who ended second with 63 points. The victory ensures APR's participation in the 2025/2026 TotalEnergies CAF Champions League and the CECAFA Dar es Salaam Port Kagame Cup.

Last year, APR were runners-up in the Kagame Cup, losing to Zambia's Red Arrows FC in the final. This title retention positions them strongly for continental competition ahead.
