Beck has released his first original song since 2023, titled “Ride Lonesome,” and announced a North American tour for the fall. The track reunites him with producer Nigel Godrich, who mixed three of his albums in the late 1990s and 2000s. A music video directed by Beck and Mikai Karl accompanies the single.
The Ride Lonesome Tour kicks off on September 16 at Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Vancouver, British Columbia. It spans through the end of October, with two nights each in San Francisco at The Masonic, Toronto at Massey Hall, and Brooklyn at Brooklyn Paramount. Highlights include stops at Los Angeles' Greek Theatre, Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado, Chicago's The Auditorium, and a finale on October 31 at The Truth in Nashville, Tennessee. Other venues feature Portland's Keller Auditorium, Detroit's Fox Theatre, and Boston's MGM Music Hall at Fenway. “Ride Lonesome” evokes the stripped-down sound of Beck's 2002 album Sea Change, produced with Godrich's involvement. Beck helmed the video alongside regular collaborator Mikai Karl, presenting a solitary aesthetic.
