The 2025 Berkeley Cup brought together caddies from 10 East End clubs for a day of competition at Friar’s Head. The event commemorated Michael Berkeley and Rick Hartmann. A foundation tied to Berkeley’s family awarded scholarships to participants.
The tournament, originally founded in 2000 as the East End Cup, was renamed the Berkeley Cup after Michael Berkeley died in the September 11 attacks. It features eight caddies from each of 10 clubs, with the lowest team score declared the winner.
The 2025 edition took place at Friar’s Head in Baiting Hollow. Noyac caddie Connor Moulden described the event as a chance for caddies to compete in the game they support all season.
Michael Berkeley’s widow, Lourdes Berkeley, attended and said her husband would be smiling down on the gathering. The Michael J. Berkeley Foundation provides scholarships funded by the tournament proceeds.
