South Africa’s Blitzboks defended their World Rugby Sevens title by reaching the semifinals at the Bordeaux Sevens in France.
The team secured the championship despite two pool stage losses. They advanced after a 14-12 comeback victory against Fiji in the quarterfinals. Argentina failed to reach the quarterfinals while Australia exited in the round of eight. This outcome allowed the Blitzboks to claim the title. The Blitzboks will face France in the semifinals on Sunday.
