Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams has been selected as the cover athlete for Madden NFL 27, becoming the first player in franchise history to receive the honor. The reveal is scheduled for Thursday at 8 PM ET.
Williams earned the spot after a breakout 2025 season in which he completed 58.1 percent of his passes for a franchise-record 3,942 yards, 27 touchdowns and seven interceptions. The Bears improved from 5-12 to 11-6, won the NFC North and secured their first playoff victory since 2010. That postseason win came against the Green Bay Packers in a game Chicago trailed by 18 points before rallying for a 31-27 victory. Williams threw for 361 yards and two touchdowns in the fourth quarter alone during the largest playoff comeback in team history. The 24-year-old quarterback also delivered several signature plays, including a game-tying touchdown pass to Cole Kmet on fourth-and-4 late in a divisional-round loss to the Los Angeles Rams. The Bears set an NFL record with seven wins when trailing in the final two minutes of regulation or overtime.
