Carla Graf confession complicates Senator Calisto in state fraud case

Carla Graf stated that her hiring as an advisor to Senator Miguel Ángel Calisto was fictitious and that she never performed any duties. Congress funds were directed to the parliamentarian's political expenses.

In the framework of an investigation by the Fiscalía Regional de Aysén started in 2022, Carla Graf, wife of Roland Cárcamo, confirmed to prosecutor Luis Carrasco that her employment as an advisor was only for show. Activity reports and invoices were prepared by her husband, Calisto's secretary or the senator himself.

Graf stated that she provided no advice of any kind and that the amounts received formed a fund for Calisto's political and personal expenses. Part of those resources were used to buy a plot of land in the parliamentarian's name.

Roland Cárcamo declared on June 23 in Osorno that he created the Fundación Proyecto Futuro to obtain additional funds, including transfers from the embassies of Taiwan and Israel intended for projects that were not fully executed. Prosecutor Hernán Libedinsky requested 12 years in prison for Calisto.

Koldo García, former aide to José Luis Ábalos, testified on Thursday before Spain's Supreme Court in the Mascarillas case trial. He admitted receiving 500-euro bills, dubbed 'chistorras', from the PSOE for expense reimbursements. He denied payments from Víctor de Aldama and defended Ábalos.

In the third session of the Koldo corruption case trial at Spain's Supreme Court—following initial testimonies on Day 1 that largely denied wrongdoing—businesswoman Carmen Pano testified to delivering 90,000 euros on two occasions to the PSOE headquarters on Ferraz street, in plastic bags inside cardboard ones. Her daughter, Leonor González Pano, ex-girlfriend of Víctor de Aldama, confirmed acting as a front for related companies and detailed a chalet for José Luis Ábalos and an Air Europa commission. Defendants Ábalos and Aldama heard the testimonies.
